DOG SOCIAL IS LIVE: A NEW DIGITAL HOME FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DOG COMMUNITY
There comes a point when saying that something should change is no longer enough. You have to try to change it.
This is the idea behind Dog Social, a new social network created specifically for people connected by their passion for dogs.
The project aims to bring together breeders, owners, exhibitors, handlers, professionals, clubs and dog lovers within a digital environment designed around their community.
Dog Social is not intended to replace Facebook, nor to imitate it.
Major social platforms will continue to play an important role in how people communicate.
Dog Social starts from a different principle: the international dog community should also have a place of its own — a platform capable of evolving according to the needs of the people who actually use it.
A real social network built around dogs
Users can already create profiles, publish posts and photographs, interact with other members, join groups, follow pages, share content and discover events available through the platform.
Its interface has been designed to feel familiar and immediate, while the technology behind it will continue to evolve.
Additional functions will be progressively introduced as the community grows.
This is an important part of the project.
Dog Social is not intended to become a fixed system where users must adapt to the platform.
The platform should evolve around its users.
Real identities and integration with AIDD
Dog Social also introduces a direct connection with the AIDD ecosystem.
Users already identified through AIDD can access Dog Social through their linked account without repeating the standard email-verification process.
Profiles connected to an existing AIDD identity receive a blue verification badge, clearly distinguishing users whose identity is already associated with the database.
This represents an important first step toward a social environment where real identities can be more easily recognised and where fake, duplicate or anonymous profiles can progressively have less space.
No online community can promise that problems will never exist.
What Dog Social can do is begin from a different foundation:
identity, responsibility and community.
Why create another social network?
It is a reasonable question.
Why build something new when platforms with billions of users already exist?
Because specialised communities have spent years relying almost entirely on systems over which they have very little control.
Algorithms change.
Visibility changes.
Rules change.
Reports may go unanswered.
Accounts can be restricted or suspended according to processes that individual communities cannot influence.
Dog Social approaches the problem differently.
The objective is to create a dedicated environment that can be developed, adapted and improved according to the people for whom it was created.
Not against existing social networks.
