A federation built to protect more than pedigrees: the complete value of the dog.
The World Dog Federation is an international canine community born from a shared conviction: loving dogs means knowing them, protecting them and selecting them responsibly.
The international vision began in 2014 and the Federation was formally established in 2017. Since then, WDF has brought national canine organizations, breeders, judges, technicians and enthusiasts into a common project dedicated to genetics, health, breed identity, welfare, education, work, sport and international cooperation.
Across countries, events and technical programs, WDF has progressively developed a coordinated international community in which every member organization keeps its national identity while contributing to common standards, shared knowledge and a long-term vision for responsible canine development.

From a pedigree to a living, verifiable canine record.

Pedigrees can be consulted together with identification, DNA and genetic data, health controls, veterinary information, character tests, titles, dog-show results, working trials, sporting results and other technical records.
A personal account allows the final user to manage registered dogs, carry out club procedures online, interact directly with the national organization and receive rapid notifications. Dogs already stored in the account can be entered into events without repeatedly completing the same information.
Breeders gain autonomous research tools for pedigree study, breeding planning and the development of responsible selection programmes. Clubs gain a direct digital relationship with their members inside the same international infrastructure.
AIDD brings the WDF community of breeders, exhibitors, owners and canine organizations together in one digital ecosystem, where the history of a dog can be studied far beyond names and generations.

The World Dog Federation is not an empty framework of titles and rules. It works continuously through specialist knowledge, technical study, discussion, regulation and international development.

BREED STANDARDS
Ten groups. One responsibility: preserve breed identity.
WDF currently recognizes 422 breeds, organized into ten morpho-functional groups. This classification reflects a fundamental principle of cynology: every breed must combine morphology consistent with its official standard with the functional qualities required to perform the work, purpose or role for which it has been selected. Within the WDF system, breed identity is therefore understood as the union of type, structure, temperament and function. The searchable digital registry progressively publishes the standards already held by the Federation, organized by breed and WDF Group.
PROJECTS & SCIENCE
Science is not an accessory to cynology. It is part of its future.
Genetics, health, traceability and responsible selection are central to the WDF vision of breed protection.
WDF supports the exchange of technical and scientific information, the study of canine populations, biological and genetic controls, education and structured breed knowledge. Digital data allows this work to become increasingly measurable, shareable and useful across national borders.
